Welcome to Green Creeks Primitives first fall update, all items listed tonight are ready to ship, these are all the fall items I have,  I have been so busy since the magazine hit the mailbox, I have been buried in pumpkins for weeks now, so with the last items shipped out here are a few things we wanted to offer for your fall decorating.  Right now I will take a check, from time to time we will offer handmades we are working on, so we hope you enjoy your evening with us.  Autumn Blessings Vicky

Herb Crow Ladye is a Stacey Mead pattern, I made one like her for the fall giveaway for Country Sampler, here I have made her a little different, she just says fall, great hanging on a cupboard.  She is 18".  Price 55.00

This is Oliva, she is a TFC folkart design, just love pumpkin folk, really enjoyed making her.  She wears a necklace made from dried okra from my garden, she is 12".  Price  35.00

AUTUMN DRESSINGS and FALL UPDATE SUNDAY

First of all I would like to thank all of you who left me the kindest remarks on my blog about my house in Country Sampler, I enjoyed reading each one of them.  I have gotten lots of emails and also phone calls reagarding my fall handmades,  yes I even had a lady from Canada call me and wanted a pumpkin and fall doll, it was an amazing experience.  So I thought I would offer a few fall handmades to you on the first day of autumn, Sunday night at 7pm est, I will have a few items already to ship, my sister Lisa and her daughter Sandy have joined me in making a few items for your fall decorating.  Hope you can join us then.  I wanted to also share with you a little of my ongoing fall decorating, here is what I have gotten done so far, and I have a few new items, yes I have been shopping, all the shops around here have had their fall open houses, so I hope you enjoy my little taste of autumn dressing for my house. 

I love this new large, guess you would call it a trencher, it has make do repairs in it, I wanted something very large to display my ever growing pumpkin collection.  I also moved my mustard shelf into the dining room, yes I like to move things.

Here is a closer picture of it, I use to have it over my desk in the living room, but I bought a new larger cabinet to hang there, I will share it with you next time.

I just love this bowl rack, it hangs on the other side of my dining room.

This wall in my kitchen has changed some since the magazine shoot.  I love the baskets added to the rack, moved the bowl rack off my counter and added it on top of the piesafe.  I love the pumpkin man in the tin can, a Cinnamon Creek design, love her stuff.  I love the new shelf that I hung next to the pie safe, love the deep shelves, hard to find them.

My favorite old find, very large bucket bench.

My favorite pumpkin doll that I had made from a Bittersweet Folkart pattern, she sits in my kitchen all year.  She was very popular when the magazine came out.

This narrow wall in the hall right off the kitchen is one of my favorite places to decorate.

Don't you just love the pumpkin head in the box, picked it up on one of my fall hunting trips.

I just love how this turned out, took the mustard shelf that was in my buttery area in the magazine and added it here in my hallway on top of a cabinet I have in there, it gets changed out with the seasons.

I had redone this area in my den, moved the cabinet out of the hallway and put it next to my couch, yes I move things about everytime I change with the seasons.

I think this is one of my favorite pumpkin dolls I have come across while shopping, decided I would put her in the den where I could see her.

Pumpkin man was found while I was in TN this time, yes I get around a lot, my poor hubby, he takes me several times a year to TN to see my friend Bonnie and of course shop.

My favorite corner of my den, this  cabinet gets changed out with every season, just love the old cabinet.

This cabinet sits in the corner, really hard to take good pictures.  Love the three pumpkins sitting in the corner with the light, one of Marie's designs at Prims by Olde Lady Morgan.

Country Sampler Fall Issue

 Little did I know when I started on this blog journey it would lead me to here.  I started on that journey because my father had died and I was trying to cope with that event.  My father had long influenced me on love of old, growing up being surrounded by antiques dad would find and sell.  Along the way I have meant some amazing and very talented bloggers that have become very special friends.  At this point I would like to thank Betty Crowe, if it had not been for Betty you would not be seeing my home in this magazine.  Betty got in touch with the photographer who had done her pictures for Country Sampler.  Bill visited my blog and asked if I would like to submit pictures to the editor. Well a little hesitate I thought, ok might be interesting to do, didn't think I had a shot at getting in Country Sampler, but the editor liked what she saw.  It actually started out being an everyday shoot, but they contacted me to see if I decorated for fall, if so could I resubmit pictures, one of their fall houses had fallen through.  Well the editor liked what she saw, so back last November Bill and Gloria showed up to take the pictures, they were so nice to work with.
Here are a few pictures you will find in the fall issue, due to hit the newstands around August 1st. 
The first picture is of my living room, favorite place just to sit with my coffee or tea and look at decorating ideas.  When they took this picture, they just loved how the light came into this room.

 My kitchen, little more prim than the other room, just love a more rustic look in here.  Punch tin pie safe and old large bucket bench, my favorite pieces.

This is another shot of my living room, love the old blue cupboard.  OK you can tell I like lots of cupboards, standing and hanging, one of my favorite things to collect.  My other favorite is the large cupboard made by a longtime friend of mine husband, Dan Scott, bought from Laura Scott many years ago, he does such a fine job in creating his pieces.  The island in the kitchen was custom made by Dan and he also did a cabinet for my sink in the bathroom, just very talented, his pieces have always made my house look so good.  Just a little taste of the fall issue, lots more pictures in there and the article that Lisa Sloan wrote, just tells my story so well.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed getting it ready for fall issue of Country Sampler.  I would like to thank all you who take the time to stop by for a visit from time to time, I enjoy reading all your comments, they mean a lot to me.  Everyone have a great weekend.  Hugs Vicky

Love of Old, Charleston, SC

Well hubby and I decided to take advantage of extra time off around the 4th and hit the road for another trip to my favorite place to go and unwind, Charleston, SC.  The pictures above are just some of the many things I love about that place.  Walking around through the many streets, takes you back in time.  I just love the old houses, the little small court yards filled with flowers and of course the antique shops, yes I have new goodies, will share a few things later.  We usually go down this time of the year sometime, our 35th wedding anniversary will be on Monday the 15th, where does time go, seems like yesterday.  I usually pick up a cake for our anniversary and the kids will be here to share a piece with us, can't wait to see Oliver, I am sure he will love eating cake this year, he was too little last year.  Just wanted to share with you some of what I have been up to lately.  I have been working on a few fall items, and trying to get things ready for the upcoming school year, I will be starting to keep Oliver again the first of August, been missing the little guy.  The fall issue also should be coming in the mail soon, can't wait to see how they have laid everything out, it will be interesting to see and how they put the story together.  Hope everyone has a great weekend, been getting lots of rain here, we need a dry spell.  Take care Vicky

Oliver's Truck Wash

Just thought I would share a picture of Oliver really getting into washing his favorite truck.  Love's to clean things, just love how he seems so involved with the washing, of course he loves water.  Just one of Oliver's hat collection also, think that really added to the picture, he wears a hat outside, he is so far sking and light headed.
 Also wanted to update you on the upcoming fall issue of Country Sampler magazine, my house will be in it, should be out sometime next month.  The editor also asked me if I would be interested in doing a fall handmade for a give away with the article, so I have sent a fall item to them for the give away.  I have been also been doing a little summer decorating, and I will be starting on my kitchen next week, will be painting the walls a butterscotch color.  I am planning on doing the floor in a black and white checkerboard and repainting the island a black, so that is the plan for this summer, been needing a new dishwasher, mine quit a year ago, so we decided this would be a good time to replace the floor.  The black and white floor is a childhood memory of my grandmother, the little girl in the picture on my blog, it was in her house, really fond memories of her.  I am also hoping to get to paint my sewing room, want to use a more warm tone in there.  Well another rainy day here, been getting lots of them lately, my flower beds are all planted, just need to do a few more things and some more pots to plant, will share them when they are in bloom more.  Everyone have a great week.  Vicky-
