Fall Comes to Green Creek Primitives

With the last of the santa's and snowmen my sister and I had made for the primitive shops were delivered last week I thought I would share some of my fall decorating with you before fall is over with.  Here I made a scarecrow welcoming fall.  Since I shot this picture, she has had a little accident, one of my many cats decided to knock her head off and make a bed out of her, had to reassemble her.  Darn cat.
Just love the pumpkin doll made from a bittersweet folk art doll pattern, she was suppose to be sold, but could not part with her, so here she sits in my kitchen, thought she turned out well.  Really enjoyed making all the pumpkin folk for fall this year.
OK, well with all my sewing money for fall and christmas items, yes I have a very bad and expensive habit, that's one of the reasons why I sew, to support my habit.  LOL.  I bought this very old and large bucket bench from Settler's Crossin.  I have been eyeing it since they opened, I decided I just had to have it in my kitchen.  With limited space in my house, its shrinking by the minute, I decided I wanted to collect different and unusal items.  I also bought the very large old bowl there and the green bowl in front is actually a resin bowl, which they look so real.  Ann who owns the shop said it came from upstate N.Y. and it used to be in her house.  Just love the very old pieces, they add so much character to a house.

Just love the make do chairs I see in the magazines.  At the Rusty Relic, Teresa has been making these, I have two of them and I am wanting her to make me another one for my kitchen.  I think they add so much to a room.  Just love the pillow and little pumpkin I found at Gibson Mill.
I had kepted the twig box when I closed down my booth, thought it would look good outside my door and it can be changed with the seasons.  Love the large crow.
I love pumpkins, can't seem to get enough of them.  I had found the dough box at Gibson Mill in the Primitive Souls booth.  I then decided it would be great filled with pumpkins and some bittersweet.  So I ordered a the pumpins and large acrons from Wanda at Gatherings.  She has some fantastic items, always asking her if she can ship something.  The dough box will be nice to display all kinds of items in.
This display is on top of my stepback cabinet in my dining room. I love to decorate this area for the seasons.
I think this is my favorite display I had done for the fall.  This is on top of a pie safe in my bedroom.  I had purchased the pumpkin from a booth at the mall I had my booth in years ago.  It stays out all year long.  I have been collecting the old crocks lately along with some samplers.
Loved this scarecrow when I came across him on one of my shopping trips, he sits on a corner cabinet in my sewing room.  The pumpkins I ordered from Marie, prims by old lady morgan, just loved the pumpkins she made this year.
This is another pumpkin doll I ordered from the Burlap Owl, love her creations.  She looks good on my work table in my sewing room.  The old cubby came from Nanbrook Farm.  Nice place to store those little things I use when I sew, and also some of the old sewing items my aunt had given me from her collection.
OK the white cabinets have to go,  I am going to paint them a weatherboard color I had come across and then we are going to replace the kitchen floor with wood laminate floors, hopefully next spring.  I just love mixing in seasonal decor with my old finds I have on top of my kitchen cabinets.
This is the other end of the cabinets.  I just love the sign, I buy a lot of signs, my father use to paint signs when I was growing up, guess they bring back memories of my father.
Little white pumpkins I added on top of this primitive piece, love to collect wooden items like old butter paddles, rolling pins, potato mashers and cookie molds.
This is my favorite fall doll I think I found this year, she sits on my dining room table with more pumpkins of course.  The bread board is made of resin, looks so real.
I had gotten this primitive doll Sarah from Dru at Cinnamon Creek.  Just love how simple she is, with her stick arms and a couple of dried flowers tied on her.  Love the tag, Enjoy your day.  All these little items just make a home so warm and inviting this time of the year.  Hope you enjoyed the little fall tour of my home.  Its always a work in progress, but its a work of love.  On another note, the girls in N.C., Nanbrook Farm, The Rusty Relic, Splinter n Rags, and Country Heart will be having their christmas open houses this saturday.  Hope if you are in the area you can attend, they have fantastic shops, they will be all decked out for the holidays. I will be going with my sister, daughter in law, Brandi and her mother, Tammy.  I will show you all the goodies soon.  Well life will be changing this week as Brandi goes back to work, she teaches 5k.  That means I will be watching Oliver on thursday and fridays, her mother will be watching him the first of the week, thats when I work.  Looking forward to spending time with my grandson, watching him grow and learning new things, an opportunity that I don't want to miss.  Everyone have a great week.  Hugs Vicky
